More intricate tasks may necessitate detailed guidance, blueprints, or schematics from engineering professionals.

The supervisor must demonstrate full proficiency in the skills and practices of the electrical trade, possessing comprehensive knowledge of relevant principles, tools, and techniques.


Key Responsibilities:


Leads and engages in the repair, maintenance, overhaul, and installation of transformers, generators, motors, and specialized electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards for safe and efficient operation.

Distributes daily work assignments to team members to optimize resource allocation and conducts regular inspections of completed tasks to confirm adherence to industry standards.

Assists in planning modifications and repairs to buildings and structures that involve electrical systems and devices.
Conducts inspections of electrical devices, wiring, and equipment to ensure safety and suitability for intended applications, determining necessary actions.
Responds promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns, executing appropriate repair actions.
Provides technical guidance regarding the selection of electrical apparatus and equipment.
May oversee the performance of service and maintenance contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Maintains cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in work areas.
Contributes to the annual budget planning process.
Completes personnel time sheets, requisitions for materials and supplies, and prepares various reports.
Handles routine and emergency repairs and maintenance, both scheduled and in response to urgent situations, as needed.
Estimates material costs and staffing needs for electrical projects to ensure effective resource management.

Utilizes computer applications and automated systems, such as Computerized Maintenance Management Software, handheld devices, spreadsheets, word processing, calendars, email, and database software to fulfill work assignments.

May undertake other incidental tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Experience:


A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible electrical experience, with at least four years in diverse electrical maintenance, repair, and installation roles requiring minimal supervision, and two years involving work layout; or two years as a journeyman following the completion of a four-year apprenticeship program under a journeyman.

A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is preferred, ideally within a healthcare setting.

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must possess a valid driver's license for operating a motor vehicle in New York State.
