Respiratory Therapy Department Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising the respiratory therapy staff at WMCHealth. This role requires a licensed professional with experience in day-to-day operations, including clinical care, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and administer respiratory therapy to patients as described by a physician.
- Set up and monitor the use of respiratory therapy equipment.
- Ensure that physician instructions are implemented for respiratory therapy patients.
- Maintain accurate records of respiratory equipment use and upkeep.
- Manage supplies of oxygen and other therapeutic gases.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff on respiratory therapy matters.
- Provide education and training to students and staff on respiratory therapy techniques.
- Participate in the selection of new equipment and future planning.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and care.
- Manage departmental statistics and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of acute care and ICU experience. Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Clinical licensed RT with registration issued by New York State Education Department as a Respiratory Therapist.
