Critical Care Nurse Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Critical Care Nurse Specialist at the Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital, a Joint Commission Accredited Critical Access Hospital located in Utqiagvik, Alaska. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Job SummaryThe Critical Care Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, and participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities- Assessing and prioritizing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
- Providing education and support to patients and families regarding their care
- Participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A current Registered Nurse License (any state), Alaska Registered Nurse License required within six (6) months of hire
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current PALS Certification
- TNCC Preferred
- NRP, ENPC Preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years of Emergency experience is preferred
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts, and being able to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice.
Estimated Salary$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
