We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopedic Technician to join our team at the Center for Orthopedic and Research Excel. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department.
Key Responsibilities- Room Turnover and Cleaning
Perform room turnover between cases in an efficient manner, following Universal Blood and Body Fluid (UBBF) precautions and utilizing Personal Protective Eyewear (PPE).
Terminal Cleaning and MaintenancePerform terminal cleaning of OR suites following a predetermined schedule on a rotational basis using PPE and following UBBF Guidelines.
Supply ManagementMonitor the surgery schedule and watch par levels in supply and patient care areas.
Communication and CollaborationCommunicate to Materials Management/Buyer regarding the need for additional supplies and assist in the restocking of those areas.
Patient Care and SafetyAssist in the safe transfer and transport of patients using proper body mechanics.
Anesthesia SupportProvide anesthesiologist support as a physician extender and part of the patient care team.
Maintenance and TroubleshootingBe familiar with anesthesia machines and be responsible for maintaining proper working order of the machines.
Requirements- Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required. One year of EVS or equivalent experience is preferred. Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
Skills and AbilitiesPractices safe working methods and universal precautions, utilizes PPE to avoid injury to self and others. Is familiar with precautions and handles hazardous material in such a way to protect self and coworkers. Is familiar with the principles of Aseptic Technique and maintains a safe distance from the sterile field when performing job functions in the OR environment.
