Tesla Motors is seeking a skilled Additive Manufacturing Specialist to join our team in the rapidly growing Additive Manufacturing department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing equipment and expanding your skill sets to meet the demands of our dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and advanced functions with regard to 3D printing, including setting up builds on various systems.
  • Perform all functions related to machine turnaround and preparation for SLS, MJF, SLA, and FDM builds.
  • Part break-out and clean-up.
  • Secondary post-processing functions, including sand blasting, surfacing, and bonding parts.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
  • Checking and fixing CAD designs to ensure they are suitable for printing.
  • Pack items for delivery and update paperwork.
  • Daily and weekly facility clean-up.
  • Machine and material prep.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience operating 3D printers and working in an Additive Manufacturing/Rapid Prototyping R&D environment or Service Bureau.
  • Ability to repeatedly produce complex and tight tolerance components with limited guidance.
  • Experience with multiple 3D printing and/or CAD software systems, including 3D Sprint, PreForm, Grab Cad, Control Center, Eiger, Build Set Up, Magics, CATIA, SolidWorks, NetFab, Rhino, and Pro-E.
  • 2-year degree or Technical School certification highly desired.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as required, with little to no advance notice, and sometimes for extended periods.
  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machines after print failures.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Well-organized and great verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
