Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Specialist at H & T Nevada LLC, you will be responsible for setting up, supporting, and maintaining the total can manufacturing process with a focus on cupping and deep draw transfer press tools and equipment in a high-volume, tight-tolerance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work from specifications, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to construct and maintain technically complex and exacting tools and gages.
  • Prove out tooling with a sample run, position by position, and obtain required Quality Assurance approvals on samples produced.
  • Produce and maintain spare parts or repair machinery as required.
  • Prepare machines for production runs and install new tools, checking each station and making the required adjustments to ensure an acceptable product.
  • Troubleshoot subsequent production problems, taking over the operation of the machine and making thorough observations to determine the extent and cause of trouble.
  • Adjust tooling and/or make repairs to worn or broken tooling as required, soliciting assistance from maintenance mechanics and electricians as needed.
  • Execute coil changes to ensure a continuous run of the line.
  • Support at other process steps if needed to prevent a breakdown of the whole line, with a focus on achieving 80% Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ability to use a computer to enter SPC data and other required data entry.
  • Separate rejected materials and follow established procedures for disposition of such materials.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and comply with standard safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in 5S audits and provide honest feedback to leadership for improvement ideas.
  • Be an active driver of the continuous improvement process.
  • Must be able to work in a production cell or in a small team environment, supporting and taking over the Press Operator responsibilities if needed.
  • Attend daily M4dI meetings to report production output, reject rates, and quality data.
  • Proactively support the continuous improvement process by attending workshops, developing, and adjusting standard work instructions, participating in problem-solving meetings, and helping to find root causes.
  • Support in developing and improving their own work environment to reach the target of 80% OEE.
  • Act as the technical lead and coach on the line and guide the Press Tech and Press Operators to achieve production goals.
  • Adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and follow all safety processes and protocols.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year of manufacturing work environment preferably.
  • Team player, dedicated to overall company performance, and the ability to get along with others.
  • Self-motivated with enthusiasm and drive; able to work independently as needed.
  • Reliable attendance on-site required.
  • Ability to work various shifts if needed, to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Regularly required to communicate and listen.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to lift 50lbs.
  • Required to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
