Tesla is seeking a highly skilled manufacturing engineer to develop new processes and high-volume automation equipment with the High Voltage Distribution team in Sparks, NV.

The ideal candidate will optimize designs for manufacturability, streamline production processes, develop automation solutions for assembly, bending, welding, fastening, and test, and support production transition from low to high volume.

This role thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of vehicle manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new highly automated manufacturing lines from concept to production
  • Manage installation, qualification, and ramp-up of manufacturing equipment
  • Collaborate with production engineering, EH&S, ergonomics, quality, operations, facility engineering, and design
  • Optimize product flow and line efficiency while reducing capex and lead-time
  • Generate machine specifications, process documentation, manufacturing instructions, and validation plans
  • Identify and resolve a diverse range of equipment mechanical, electrical, controls, and software issues in production
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia, or AutoCAD preferred)
  • Experience working with automation systems, robotics, and PLCs
  • Strong hands-on experience with pilot and high-volume production
  • Proven track record of data-driven methodology to solve multi-faceted problems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
