Position Overview:
AC Hotel Cambridge, part of the Colwen Hotels family, is in search of a skilled and personable On-Call Bartender and Event Server. Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and acknowledge each guest warmly, utilizing their name whenever possible.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and menu items to hotel guests.
  • Manage inventory of liquor and bar supplies effectively.
  • Process guest checks and handle payments accurately.
  • Assist with light food preparation and service as required.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with legal age requirements.
  • Promote and suggest beverages and special drink offerings.
  • Craft cocktails using precise portion controls while ensuring responsible service.
  • Maintain accountability for all beverages served, exercising sound judgment to refuse service to intoxicated or disruptive guests.
  • Ensure cleanliness of glassware, china, and silverware prior to use.
  • Adhere to all liquor laws, health regulations, and Colwen Hotels' standards and policies.
  • Prepare the bar for service, ensuring cleanliness before and after shifts according to operational guidelines.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the bar area, food preparation equipment, and related tools.
  • Perform side duties, including cleaning, garnish preparation, and miscellaneous stocking tasks.
  • Possess general knowledge of the hotel, local area, and events to assist guests with inquiries.
  • Process payments and manage all payment methods in accordance with Colwen policy.
  • Secure all alcoholic beverages and storage areas to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of bartending experience.
  • T.I.P.S. certification or state-specific equivalent (to be obtained within 30 days if expired).
  • Proficient in operating point-of-sale systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service.
  • Ability to remain composed when addressing challenging guest interactions.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation.
  • Commitment to maintaining personal hygiene standards.
  • Must meet the legal age requirement of the jurisdiction.
  • Availability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
