Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer Intern to join our team at the Hartford City Mill. As a Process Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the paper-making process and develop your skills in operations, process control, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Production Team as directed
  • Learn and apply knowledge within the containerboard field
  • Assist with developing operator interfaces to promote efficient operation and effective standard operation procedures (SOPs)
  • Keep abreast of liner and medium paper making industry trends and recommend/implement improvements as appropriate
  • Work with paper testing equipment technicians and assist in the paper testing lab
  • Work with the Production Manager to execute mill goals
  • Effectively coordinate work with other groups within the company
  • Assist employees in gathering and analyzing data used in continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist in maintenance projects that involve instrumentation and process control
  • Assist operations in managing shutdown jobs
Qualifications

To be considered for this internship, you must be in the process of pursuing a Paper Science or Engineering degree and be entering your Junior or Senior year. A strong technical background and excellent written and oral communication skills are also desired.
