As a Yard Operations Coordinator, your role will involve executing operational tasks that enhance trailer cycle efficiency, improve awareness of fleet movements, and guarantee the accuracy of yard management system data.

We seek candidates with:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in yard management and/or receiving operations
- familiarity with receiving, dispatching, radio communication, or yard management systems.

What does the role entail?

Transportation Operations / Administration:
  • Utilizes internal yard management systems to track and manage arrival and departure traffic (e.g., YMS, TMS, Mainframe CICS, Tumdock, etc.)
  • Coordinates with Transportation and Warehouse personnel (Yard Supervisors, Delivery Operations Partners, Warehouse Clerks) to validate and prioritize purchase orders, resolve scheduling conflicts, and inform them of arrival status.
  • Records driver information upon arrival (license number, contact number, carrier name, etc.)
  • Guides drivers to the appropriate Warehouse; schedules on-the-spot appointments as necessary.
  • Identifies the nature of the activity/workflow (live or drop delivery, bobtail pickup, etc.) and applies the appropriate process.
  • Verifies shipment/purchase order details in EXE/HOST.
  • Facilitates timely departures after unloading to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Confirms and validates Warehouse comments on departing trailers.
  • Applies expertise to resolve conflicts and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manages exceptions, including deliveries not suitable for dock doors and non-system departures.
  • Monitors and ensures the quality and accuracy of system data entry (YMS and other internal systems); may suggest improvements to systems and processes.
  • Generates reports in EXE, YMS, TMS (SCI Report), etc.
  • Communicates and clarifies procedures for drivers/operators; identifies safety, regulatory, and procedural concerns.
  • Assists with terminal/yard-wide operational tasks as needed.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activities to Security; documents process exceptions and irregularities (property/equipment damage, theft, etc.); collaborates with Loss Prevention & Security on security-related matters.
  • May mentor new Partners and Security Guards on proper arrival/departure protocols and policies.
