Position Overview:

The Yard Operations Support Specialist will engage in a range of essential labor tasks, focusing on the maintenance and organization of the yard and workshop areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in various departments by performing tasks that contribute to the efficient completion of projects in a safe manner.
  • Follow verbal and hand signal instructions to identify and relocate materials as required.
  • Maintain and prepare materials by cleaning threads, replacing protectors, and ensuring proper handling of equipment.
  • Verify specifications such as heat numbers and quantities, ensuring proper chocking of materials.
  • Install protective measures like strapping and bracing to secure items during transport.
  • Engage in surface preparation activities including painting, stenciling, and sandblasting.
  • Gather and unload tools, setting up equipment necessary for daily tasks.
  • Transport materials to designated areas, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization in the assigned work area, including routine housekeeping tasks.
  • Safely operate various tools and machinery to complete assigned duties.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors or management.
End-of-Day Responsibilities:

At the conclusion of each shift, ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately for future use.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability, with the ability to work 40+ hours.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Capable of lifting weights ranging from 50 to 80 pounds.
  • Able to work in various environmental conditions.
