Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Long Term Care position at Aperion Care Peru is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled nursing professional to provide high-quality care to residents. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering direct nursing care, supervising nursing assistants, and ensuring the highest standards of quality care are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants, including planning services, programs, and activities.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, providing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
  • Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts, receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians, and chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians, develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, and create a calm and positive environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Administer professional services, including catheterization, tube feedings, and applying and changing dressings/bandages, as required.
  • Monitor assigned personnel to ensure they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information, and report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure.

Requirements:
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the state of Illinois.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility.
