Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory therapy care and life support for patients in adult intensive care, pediatrics, and med/surg units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and evaluate respiratory therapy care, including oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, and pharmaceutical treatments
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and disease management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved 2-year Respiratory Care program accredited by the Respiratory Care Accrediting Board (RCAB) or Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) from National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) for Pulmonary Function Laboratory (PFT) roles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS)
  • Must have sleep credentials SDS OR CPSGT OR RPSGT
