Job Title: Senior Investment Officer

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Officer to join its Public Sector Clients Department, Region 1 (PSC1). As a key member of the team, you will contribute to AIIB's lending program in Region 1 by supporting the establishment, maintenance, and development of client relations, identifying potential lending needs, and maintaining current information regarding the debt sustainability and overall socio-economic situation of selected countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, co-lead, or assist the Director General and Sector Heads/Managers in creating and maintaining client relations and peer relationships in South Asia.
  • Conduct reviews of potential Member borrowing needs and identify potential lending opportunities.
  • Maintain updated information and databases of Member status, economic outlook, risk profile, and government priorities for South Asia.
  • Lead, co-lead, or assist the Director General and Sector Heads/Managers in creating Multi-year Rolling Pipelines in AIIB members.
  • Participate in dialogues with clients, co-financing partners, and other stakeholders on business development issues in South Asia.
  • Support business development activities in public infrastructure sector projects by interacting with clients, governments, other institutions, gathering information on the ground, and building business relationships in South Asia.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience in infrastructure financing, planning, engineering, or economics.
  • Experience working in at least two of the main sectors of AIIB is required: transport, energy, water, or urban.
  • An understanding of the challenges facing the Asian infrastructure sector and familiarity with the structure and workings of the infrastructure sectors is desired.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector working with MDBs, development organizations, consulting organizations, and operating companies, particularly in South Asia, would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management, business development, and project management in infrastructure is necessary.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to conduct day-to-day management of a large and complex project portfolio.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of a language(s) of an AIIB Member would be an advantage.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in economics, engineering, or other infrastructure-related fields including geography, infrastructure planning, or management is required.
