The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide individual, group, and educational counseling sessions to clients struggling with addiction and substance abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Counseling and Case Management: Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to help clients achieve recovery goals, and maintain accurate case records in accordance with our standards.
- Treatment Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement treatment plans, and make recommendations for modifications to services and service delivery as needed.
- Referral and Discharge: Maintain contact with referral sources, submit requests for authorization for treatment, and complete discharge documentation for each client.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in clinical staff meetings, team conferences, and educational courses to enhance treatment skills and stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Experience: Minimum two years of experience working with substance abuse populations.
- Certifications and Licenses: Must possess a Master's degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology), and approved MCBAP certification (CADC, CAADC, etc), or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
