Within the Higher Education & Organizational Change (HEOC) graduate division, students explore the multifaceted historical, political, social, and philosophical influences on higher education. Our programs cater to those aspiring to engage in research and teaching at higher education institutions, administration roles in student or academic affairs, or positions within research and policy organizations. The HEOC division offers three degree pathways: the M.A. and Ph.D. programs focused on research, and the Ed.M. in Student Affairs, a one-year cohort-based program aimed at early-career professionals, emphasizing student development, higher education foundations, and social justice.
Summary of Position
The Department of Education at UCLA invites applications for a temporary, part-time lecturer to contribute to the HEOC division.
Course Responsibilities
The lecturer will be responsible for teaching the following course, with the possibility of additional assignments based on departmental needs:
ED 209C - Research and Evaluation in Higher Education. This course includes four hours of lecture and focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of research methodologies and evaluation practices in higher education. Key topics encompass basic statistics, survey design, data analysis, assessment challenges, and research proposal development. Grading will be conducted on a letter scale.
