Position Summary
As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist, you will be a licensed pharmacist responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and timely delivery of medication therapy.

Your role will involve supporting both centralized and decentralized medication-use systems, providing optimal pharmaceutical care to patients with diverse health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders by assessing drug selection, dosage, frequency, safety, and potential interactions before dispensing.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure the completion of:
   • Preparation of initial and missing doses
   • Order entry
   • Timely delivery of urgent medications
   • Coordination of intravenous therapy
- Monitor compliance with medication use guidelines and clinical pathways to ensure proper drug utilization.
- Document clinical interventions that prevent or resolve medication-related issues and promote cost-effective therapy.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify medication orders, suggest alternative therapies when necessary, and provide investigational drug information. Participate in the training and orientation of new staff members.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Doctor of Pharmacy or an advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Illinois (must complete the licensure process promptly).
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency is required.
- Board Certification in a relevant area is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting is preferred, especially in Oncology.

In this role, you will typically work around 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule, including various shifts throughout the day. Compliance with vaccination requirements is mandatory as part of the employment process.
