About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Product Development. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new medical devices and equipment that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with Stryker's new product development procedures.
  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
  • Determine and implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
  • Hold active role in New Product Development team discussions. Provide engineering input on key topics to reduce time to market.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate the results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
  • May assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Submit periodic reports on assigned topics to manager/supervisor/mentor.
  • Present to team members and leadership on accomplishments during each six-month rotation.
  • May interact with customers to resolve product issues.
Requirements
  • B.S or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; we will only consider candidates with December 2024 or spring of 2025 graduation dates.
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA (or equivalent).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and externally as required.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
  • High level of PC Skills required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
