First Line Leader Role

Our Operations team plays a crucial role in delivering innovative and life-saving products to our customers. We rely on our team members to engage actively in the continuous improvement of our operations while we provide the growth and development necessary for skill enhancement and career advancement. We are seeking a First Line Leader to guide our team effectively.

The First Line Leader is a pivotal leadership position focused on cultivating fully engaged and skilled teams that achieve results aligned with performance objectives in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies and promotes DuPont Core Values.
  • Plans and organizes shift activities and resources to optimize performance in accordance with production objectives; communicates performance metrics and outcomes to team members, fostering an understanding of their contributions to overall goals.
  • Drives operational excellence by engaging team members to identify continuous improvement opportunities, eliminate waste, and foster a sense of ownership.
  • Coaches and holds team members accountable for safety, behavior, performance, and quality standards.
  • Provides mentorship, development, and performance feedback to enhance team capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Recruits, retains, and develops talent to meet current and future operational needs; champions a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Collaborates with leadership to stay aligned with business strategies and requirements.
  • Effectively communicates site directives and ensures clarity in work alignment.
  • Completes administrative tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensures work is executed according to established schedules.
  • Facilitates team processes, including problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Leads or participates in investigations related to EHS & Quality, determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensures compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitors and adjusts controllable costs for the shift, including overtime and operating supplies.
  • Implements Leader Standard Work practices, including regular line walks.
  • Initiates recognition programs for individuals and teams, celebrating achievements.
  • Organizes staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production demands.
  • Addresses personnel issues effectively during shifts.
  • Available to provide coverage during weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as required; willing to work overtime as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or similar environment.
  • Preferred experience in people leadership.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) is a plus.
  • Proficient with current computer applications and technologies.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
