Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing/Engineering Technician to join our team at Shively Brothers. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve machining and tooling-related issues, focusing on cost savings, scrap reduction, and production efficiency.
  • Work closely with the plant team to address safety, quality, throughput, and cost issues related to tooling.
  • Ensure tool availability and usage do not disrupt production, revising and updating tool drawings and documentation as needed.
  • Develop innovative solutions to recondition and re-use tooling when economically feasible.
  • Participate in regular operations and team problem-solving meetings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with the preset team on proper tool setup techniques and customer safety requirements.
  • Follow established procedures for tool testing and documentation.
  • Report and document non-conformances, CARs, and continuous improvements.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to good housekeeping standards.
  • Make informed decisions within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Report near misses and incidents to the site manager and cooperate with investigations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in production machining, CNC Machining, and cutting tools or a closely related technical field.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with knowledge of computer systems.
