Histology Technician

ResponsibilitiesAs a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that result in the creation of microscopic slide preparations. This will include accessioning specimens, specimen processing, microtomy techniques, paraffin and frozen staining, and other related tasks. You will also be expected to actively partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment and respect others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must have a High School Diploma. An associate degree (or higher) is required within 18 months of employment. Computer skills are preferred. You must also provide a CV/Resume, cover letter, transcripts (unofficial copy accepted), and NACES detailed international equivalency for foreign degrees. Internal candidates must provide their past three performance appraisals. DLMP employees that have been in current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach early release approval from supervisor. Non-DLMP internal applicants that have been in their current department/position for less than 1 year must attach early release approval from supervisor. International transcript must have a DETAILED equivalency evaluation, show US equivalent degree, and evaluation must be completed from an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) OR the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE).
Compensation and BenefitsThis part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $30.86 per hour. Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification. Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
