Responsibilities

The Renal Biopsy Laboratory is a critical component of Mayo Clinic's kidney transplant program and nephrology practices. As a Histology Technician, you will play a vital role in analyzing over 6,500 biopsies/cases per year, performing various techniques, specialty stains, and ancillary services to deliver high-quality patient results. You will work collaboratively across different areas within and outside Anatomic Pathology, including Mayo Clinic Laboratories/clients, and the Microscopy and Cell Analysis Core Laboratory.

Our laboratory is a smaller department with a strong sense of teamwork, and we are looking for individuals with an inquisitive nature to join our team in a Histology Technician or Histotechnologist role. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associate degree in a related field (Histology Technician) or Bachelor's degree (Histotechnologist)
  • Coursework in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology
  • Certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
  • Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments
