The Security Operations Specialist is responsible for executing all necessary national security protocols, with a particular focus on Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and 32CFR-117 NISPOM Rule requirements. This role demands a commitment to excellence and the ability to operate independently without direct oversight.

The Specialist must be a collaborative team member, demonstrating adaptability, prioritization skills, and the ability to manage client expectations in a dynamic work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, including Government security officials, to fulfill security obligations.
  • Providing on-site security assistance as required.
  • Creating security documentation for proposal initiatives.
  • Supporting various federal entities by adhering to diverse security protocols, leveraging the NISPOM, ICDs, and other relevant directives.
  • Maintaining SCIF accreditations with the appropriate Cognizant Security Agency (CSA).
  • Conducting security training and educational sessions.
  • Assisting in the formulation, execution, and oversight of security policies and procedures, including the insider threat program.
  • Delivering security briefings, debriefings, and annual refresher sessions as needed.
  • Coordinating facility co-utilization agreements.
  • Processing SCI nominations and verifying personnel need-to-know for various projects.
  • Investigating security breaches and submitting necessary reports to government entities.
  • Documenting and maintaining personnel security records.
  • Building and sustaining effective working relationships with government and internal stakeholders.
  • Advocating for the security program through effective communication and collaboration with senior management.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Overseeing facility access control, intrusion detection systems, and related hardware.
  • Managing SCIF visitor control, including entry/exit inspections and badging.
  • Conducting self-inspections of SCIFs in preparation for security audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with security policies and standards necessary for safeguarding classified information.
  • Executing alarm tests in collaboration with service providers and documenting any concerns.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in security or criminal justice is required, along with experience in overseeing SCIF construction projects.

This position requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks. Candidates must be prepared to travel as necessary and pass a drug test and background check.
