As a Security Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for swiftly establishing classified, isolated, or air-gapped environments for the deployment of the company's products or software solutions. Your expertise in Information Technology, Security, and government accreditation processes will be crucial. You will utilize your analytical skills to navigate challenges related to customer approval processes, product timelines, and the security compliance of information systems, ensuring that software and hardware are authorized for real-world applications.

This organization manages a variety of closed program infrastructures, requiring you to oversee compliance with the Risk Management Framework and other relevant standards. Implementing complex technological solutions in a highly regulated environment necessitates a profound understanding of cybersecurity and the ability to demonstrate adherence to technical security measures. Proficiency in cybersecurity principles and technical documentation is essential. As part of a compact yet expanding team, you will take ownership of challenging issues, employ innovative strategies to tackle complex problems, and monitor classified systems for compliance and potential insider threats. Your contributions will have a visible impact, while you will also have the freedom to engage in projects that align with your interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an IT/RMF Auditor for classified network systems and product deployments.
  • Ensure system compliance by verifying that authorized patches are applied within designated timeframes.
  • Provide recommendations, rationalize, and implement enhancements using established change control processes.
  • Adapt commercial technology standards for use in classified, air-gapped settings.
  • Collaborate closely with the ISSM and ISO to monitor information systems for unauthorized security changes or user behaviors that could jeopardize the operational network.
  • Report any irregularities discovered within system environments to the ISSM/ISO.
  • Create and maintain RMF documentation for establishing, managing, or decommissioning classified network environments.
  • Define, document, and adhere to standards and best practices for incident response, chain of custody, and sanitization protocols.
  • Drive automation and scripting initiatives to improve the security posture of network environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with monitoring Linux and Windows systems and understanding networking fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of JSIG, NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DAAPM, relevant NIST publications, RMF, and ISOI.
  • Understanding of exploits, attacks, and tools utilized by proficient hackers.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Cybersecurity (ISSO, System Administrator) or a related field (vulnerability management, SOC, threat hunting, Cyber intelligence, GRC, or other governance roles).
  • GSEC, Security+, or a Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology discipline (for DoD 8140 compliance).
  • Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of contemporary software development practices and their security implications (CI pipelines, microservices architectures, cloud, and container-based deployments).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Networking/Virtualization certifications (CCNA, Network+, VCTA-NV).

Additional Qualifications

  • CASP+ or CCNP Security or CCSP certifications are advantageous.

Compensation

Salary range: $150,000 - $225,000 USD
