Position Summary:

As a key contributor to pediatric healthcare services, CHRISTUS Health is dedicated to providing exceptional care for children. We are seeking a qualified Pediatric Otolaryngology Specialist to join our esteemed team at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care for our pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

The Pediatric Otolaryngology Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and implementing criteria for patient care reviews to assess the quality and appropriateness of treatments provided.
  • Recommending clinical privileges for department members based on adherence to established medical staff policies and sound clinical practices.
  • Evaluating patient care services and ensuring compliance with hospital operations.
  • Coordinating care with nursing and ancillary services to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Organizing departmental meetings to discuss quality management findings and improvement opportunities.
  • Acting as a representative for peer review functions and submitting necessary reports on departmental activities.
  • Providing ongoing education and orientation for all department personnel.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements
  • MD degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in otolaryngology.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, particularly those with chronic conditions.
  • Strong diagnostic and assessment skills, along with expertise in patient and family education.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
