We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician to join our team at Christus Children's Hospital in San Antonio. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our faculty, residents, and staff to deliver high-quality services to our pediatric otolaryngology patient population.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care and treatment.
- Conduct regular patient care reviews to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care provided to patients within the department or service.
- Recommend criteria for clinical privileges relevant to care provided in the department and recommend clinical privileges for each member of the department.
- Review and evaluate department/service adherence to medical staff policies and procedures, sound principles of clinical practice, and integration of the department/service into the operations of the hospital.
- Coordinate patient care provided by the department/service members with nursing and ancillary patient care services.
- Take appropriate action when important problems in patient care and clinical performance or opportunities to improve care are identified.
- Function as the designated agent of the respective department or service, or on behalf of the Medical Executive Committee, in connection with all peer review functions.
- Submit required reports concerning the department or service's review and evaluation activities, actions taken thereon, and the results of such action.
- Provide orientation and continuing education for all persons in the department or service.
- MD degree or equivalent.
- Educational Requirements: Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
- Certification Requirements: Candidate must be board certified or eligible in otolaryngology.
- Background working with children with chronic illness, and knowledge of long-term medications and drug interactions.
- Strong physical assessment and diagnostic skills as well as experience in patient and family education and coordination of care.
- Current Certifications in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
