The Project Support Lead at Disaster Resource Group provides strategic oversight and leadership for various sized projects. These projects require a dedicated Project Support Lead who communicates with the Project Manager, Project Sponsor, and Department of Energy (DOE) Customers. The Project Support Lead will support in the definition and scope of projects, including methods of accomplishing the work, developing schedules and cost baselines. This must include establishing work activities, milestones, and schedules, cost estimates, and spending profiles in accordance with customer business processes.

The Project Support Lead will co-manage the design and construction projects from conception through turnover to operations within the established baseline. Because these projects impact multiple constituents, the Project Support Lead will also identify and work with engineering and project controls teams for successful project completion.

The Project Support Lead will assist in leading projects through multiple stage gates and supporting the development of long-range project planning and development, project budgeting, cost controls, project scheduling, operational support, etc. The Project Support Lead will support the full life cycle of projects, including multiple project phases, and develop deliverables over the duration of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively participates in processes and makes recommendations for system refinements within the Project Management Sponsors.
  • Support Planning Sessions as documentation lead and/or workstream lead.
  • Provides clear direction on project requirements to meet expectations of customers and business stakeholders.
  • Interacts through program and/or project updates and reviews with all levels of management.
  • Drives implementation of projects by establishing strategy, schedules, budgets, and financial analysis.
  • Drives use of Project Management Methodology throughout projects.
  • Co-approves team deliverables for project completion.
  • Co-leads team in risk management approaches and systems.
  • Makes decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is substantial project or program impact.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Masters Degree Preferred)
  • 3-5 Years of experience that includes planning, organizing, performing, supervising, tracking, and reporting of projects or equivalent education and similar work experience
  • PM Certification
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite to include Primavera
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptability and initiative to manage and prioritize work related to project and turnaround execution
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment that expects the highest levels of customer services, confidentiality, and ethical behavior
