Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Affiliate Instructor to teach in the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in hospitality-related subjects, including food fundamentals, food science, and food production and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 3+ credit hours in hospitality-related subjects
  • Develop and deliver course materials and lesson plans
  • Grade student work and provide timely feedback
  • Provide academic support to students as needed
  • Meet with students during office hours
Requirements
  • Master's degree in hospitality or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree in hospitality-related discipline plus 10+ years of professional experience in the field
  • Nationally recognized certificates and licenses in hospitality-related fields (e.g., CEC, FMP)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a higher education setting
  • Ability to infuse technology into coursework
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program.
