Job Summary

The Department of Accounting at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. As a part-time affiliate faculty member, you will teach 3-9 credit hours of Accounting courses and work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
  • Grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master's degree and 10 years of work experience in the area of the teaching assignment or otherwise be classified in one of the four AACSB business faculty categories. Preferred qualifications include a business-related Master's degree, plus five years of professional experience and professional certification in the teaching area.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
