About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group as a Senior Structural Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures for various clients, utilizing state-of-the-art computer tools and collaborating with top industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design to develop innovative solutions.
  • Work on a wide range of projects, preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications and reports, and supporting designers with drawing development.
  • Mentor others in the development of engineering deliverables, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using industry-leading software.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Five or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
  • Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSCE degree.
  • Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures.
  • On-site construction support experience.
  • PE or SE license.
