We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Schools of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Director of Physical Plant and Lead Engineer to prioritize and execute daily maintenance tasks and requests.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor maintenance issues, including electrical, plumbing, and equipment problems.
- Perform routine plumbing repairs, such as unclogging toilets and sinks, fixing water leaks, and replacing faucets and water fountains.
- Conduct routine electrical repairs, including changing light bulbs and lamps, and assisting with repairing light fixtures.
- Repair and replace door hardware, patch holes in walls, and assemble and move furniture as needed.
- Maintain the grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly manner, including mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and debris removal.
- Act as a liaison between the school and contractors, vendors, and other service personnel while on school premises.
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and identify, report, and repair safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President and CFO.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience with plumbing, electrical, painting, grounds, and general repair skills preferred.
- Valid CA driver's license with a clean record and ability to drive the school vehicle required.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and practices required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and use a computer required.
This role requires regular lifting or carrying of 1-50 lbs, regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling, and regular climbing of stairs. The ability to tolerate and work in a loud and active environment is also required.
