San Antonio College seeks a professional librarian to perform a range of duties in an academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection of materials to support the curriculum and research needs of students and faculty.
- Provide research assistance and instruction to students, faculty, and staff on the use of library resources and information literacy skills.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate library services and resources into the curriculum.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in librarianship and apply this knowledge to improve library services and collections.
- Participate in collection development and weeding processes to ensure the library's collection remains relevant and useful.
- Develop and implement programs and services to engage the community and promote the library's resources and services.
- Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited program.
- Experience working with library technology issues, including vendor products like Springshare and EBSCO.
- Skills in library areas such as ILL, Acquisitions, and Customer Service.
- Ability to develop innovative projects and pursue professional development.
- Familiarity with authentication systems like CAS or OpenAthens and resolving off-campus access issues.
- Experience working in an academic library environment.
- Knowledge of statistics for library resources and ability to analyze data to inform collection development and library services.
The librarian will work in a dynamic and diverse academic environment, collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to provide excellent library services and support.
