Job Summary

The Street Outreach Specialist will play a critical role in addressing homelessness in Clackamas County by providing comprehensive street outreach efforts that partner with participants and other agencies to connect them to permanent housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct general oversight, development, and in-person outreach to locate camps and other sites in Clackamas County operated through IRCO's Clackamas County Housing Program.
  • Support homeless individuals in their path to housing, connecting participants to resources in Clackamas County housing programs.
  • Track participants, maintain participant information in IRCO and funder databases.
  • Provide bilingual support when necessary and empowerment-based advocacy and referrals to other sources of assistance.
  • Ensure connection with resources to meet participant needs.
  • Provide culturally appropriate responsive advocacy that honors the lived experience of every immigrant and refugee and the community at large.
  • Effectively communicate available resources that support cultural values, beliefs, and customs of immigrants and refugees.
  • Connect participants with relevant community resources to address needs related to housing, employment, health, education, and financial assistance.
  • Serve as a primary contact for community partners that provide culturally specific services.
  • Effectively and respectfully work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license, reliable transportation, and verification of current auto insurance.
  • A culturally specific language most spoken by immigrants and refugees is highly preferred.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team and work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of varying racial, ethnic, cultural, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.
