Position Overview:

The Access Coordinator III serves as a vital resource for patients, addressing all inquiries related to scheduling and billing. This role is essential in ensuring comprehensive patient data collection, accurate billing processes, and efficient payment collection for services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement service recovery strategies and adhere to patient-centered care principles.
  • Assist both internal and external stakeholders with exemplary customer service.
  • Manage scheduling tasks, including appointments and notifications for patients.
  • Conduct pre-registration activities and ensure accurate patient information is maintained.
  • Handle walk-ins, create new patient records, and access systems for necessary orders.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure equipment is clean and functional.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the waiting area, ensuring it is stocked with educational materials.
  • Facilitate the completion of necessary documentation, including ABN forms and appointment scheduling.
  • Verify insurance details and explain benefits to patients, while managing referrals and authorizations.
  • Maintain daily and monthly statistics, ensuring accurate record-keeping of medical records issues.
  • Process payments and issue receipts, managing financial transactions responsibly.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings, contributing to the orientation of new employees.
  • Complete ongoing education requirements and maintain job skill competencies.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of three years of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling within a healthcare setting.
