Pharmacist for Institutional Pharmacy

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Pharmacy Careers. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care and services in a non-retail setting, focusing on preparing and dispensing medications for long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently for institutional clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Medication Reviews: Conduct thorough medication reviews to ensure appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of prescribed therapies, collaborating with healthcare providers and facility staff to optimize medication therapy and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Medication Counseling: Provide medication counseling and education to facility staff and caregivers on proper medication administration and potential side effects, ensuring patient well-being and safety.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and procurement of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services, staying current with best practices and advancements in pharmaceutical care for institutional settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
  • Experience: Experience in closed-door or institutional pharmacy, with a strong background in preparing and dispensing medications for institutional clients.
  • Licensure: State pharmacy license in good standing.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy management software.
