Accountant Job Description

Maxar Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team in Westminster, CO. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and supporting the month end and quarter end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries for month end and quarter end close
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash and bank reconciliations
  • Analyze and research outstanding liabilities to create month end accruals
  • Partner with business units to research and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Support ongoing process improvement efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with internal controls
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
