Position Summary

The Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of operators and grade checkers within the grading operations of the company, executing the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project priorities and allocate crew members to tasks to ensure timely completion and adherence to production schedules.
  • Interpret and implement plans, material lists, and guidelines while adhering to established timelines.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and stretching exercises with the crew.
  • Perform standard and advanced construction tasks, including project layout, while ensuring timely completion of documentation.
  • Mentor team members to complete projects within set guidelines and deadlines.
  • Uphold all safety regulations and procedures mandated by the company and clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, suppliers, and government representatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments within Clarkson to enhance operational efficiency: Safety, Project Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and others.
  • Maintain composure and communicate effectively in high-pressure situations to facilitate problem-solving.
  • Record crew members' work hours using company-provided software and devices on a daily basis.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, and stand; capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in reading plans and specifications to conduct quality work assessments.
  • Understanding of project constraints and budgets to ensure profitable project completion.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Self-driven with strong time management capabilities to meet employee and project demands.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with current grading equipment and eagerness to learn about new technologies.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Internet navigation).
  • Basic telephone skills (making calls, reading, and responding to emails and texts).
  • Willingness to travel within local regions.
  • Dependable and punctual in reporting to work.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak construction periods.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation.
