Job Overview

In the role of Finance Program Lead, you will report directly to the Director of Finance. This position is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of program accounting, invoicing, financial reporting, estimates at completion (EAC), forecasting, and collaborating closely with Program Managers and Sales teams throughout the pricing and financial reporting phases of various programs.

Your leadership will extend to managing and nurturing a team of five Program Financial Analysts, which includes three Senior Financial Analysts, one Financial Analyst, and one Junior Financial Analyst.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of five Program Financial Analysts, ensuring their work is supervised, reviewed, and validated. Set personal objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Allocate Program Financial Analysts to various programs as needed.
  • Provide continuous analytical financial support to Program Managers, aiding in the preparation of financial documents, conducting detailed program assessments, and identifying significant risks and opportunities. Ensure accurate accounting of program financials, which includes:
    • Reviewing all cost components associated with assigned programs to confirm their reasonableness and accuracy. Analyzing cost applications within the SAP system to ensure proper accounting.
    • Preparing budget files based on approved bid models and analyzing variances to suggest recovery strategies when necessary.
    • Collaborating with various programs to understand accounting treatments within the SAP framework.
    • Working alongside Program Managers to document contract performance, estimate to complete (ETC), and EAC projections, while providing rolling 12-month forecasts of revenue and gross margin for each project.
    • Preparing invoices in compliance with government contracts and relevant regulations.
    • Monitoring cumulative billings against contract values and flagging programs nearing full billing.
    • Acting as the Finance Leader during monthly program reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in SAP according to contract specifications, understanding the implications of WBS functionality within the system.
  • Enhance business acumen across all organizational levels.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvements and evaluate ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Candidate Profile

Education/Training:
  • A degree in Business is required.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a project-oriented accounting and analytical finance setting, ideally within a government contracting context.
  • Experience in government pricing is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Results-driven, analytical, and self-motivated, with a focus on process improvement and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Exemplary integrity, curiosity, and a proactive approach to ownership.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
