Maintenance Team Lead Job Description

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the maintenance shop, providing direct leadership for technicians, and ensuring timely installation and upkeep of company property and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise all maintenance work and repairs, monitoring progress and quality.
  • Review repairs and other maintenance requests, preparing work order documents.
  • Oversee personnel, including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed.
  • Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain the highest level of excellence in communication with colleagues throughout the company.
  • Assist and coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager to maximize operational efficiency of equipment and minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Maintain and improve a Preventative Maintenance Program within the facility to ensure all equipment is operational continually.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage work crews for major equipment overhauls, replacement of equipment, and special projects.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory positions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in the US.
  • A valid CDL driver's license is desired.
