About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Collateral Specialist to join our team at Local Government Federal Credit Union. As a Loan Collateral Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper management of collateralized loans, including consumer and commercial loans.

In this role, you will work closely with various business units to monitor and service collateralized loans, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order and that liens are properly perfected. You will also assist in the development of processes and procedures related to collateral management and documentation review.

You will have a strong knowledge of consumer loan collateral insurance requirements and post-documentation review policies and procedures. Additionally, you will have experience working with credit union policies and procedures, as well as a strong understanding of bankruptcy and consumer law.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in consumer and commercial loan real estate and non-real estate experience. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field is required. Preferably, you will have a minimum of 2-3 years of credit union credit experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily operational support for collateralized consumer and commercial loans
  • Process and monitor perfected security interests for collateral securing consumer and commercial collateralized loans
  • Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and validating periodic collateral reports and system output
  • Support the continued maintenance of collateral and insurance tracking systems
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of processes and procedures related to collateral management and documentation review
  • Perform periodic self-audits of all areas of responsibility

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of consumer and commercial loan real estate and non-real estate experience
  • Strong knowledge of consumer loan collateral insurance requirements and post-documentation review policies and procedures
  • Experience working with credit union policies and procedures
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
  • Preferably, minimum 2-3 years of credit union credit experience

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
