Program Support Specialist Senior

Job Summary:

As a Senior Program Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Commonwealth of Virginia operates within the guidelines of Federal and State regulatory standards. You will provide high-level administrative, programmatic, and project management support to ensure the smooth operation of our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of VADOC program, policies, and procedures to perform administrative responsibilities.
  • Coordinate meetings with HSU Chiefs and fulfill requests and inquiries from various sources.
  • Maintain multiple databases with up-to-date information and ensure compliance in the management of peer reviews, mortality reviews, and medical clemency requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to compose correspondence using good grammar skills.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and other State and Federal confidentiality regulations.
  • Ability to deal effectively with public officials and executives of public and private agencies.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze problems and offer recommendations.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to compose and edit documents, reports, proposals, presentations, policies, etc.
  • Ability to utilize office technology and software.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Pro, Google Suite products, Microsoft Office Suite products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a correctional setting.
  • Experience in a healthcare organization setting.
  • Preferred experience with Nursys Licensing database and National Practitioner's Data Bank.
  • Preferred experience with VACORIS.
