Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Orthopedic Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients. Key responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing orthopedic conditions, and developing treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) degree with a focus on orthopedics or pediatric orthopedics, and valid state licensure and national certification.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive health history, physical assessments, and plan for infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and performs other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
  • Formulates family-centered plan of care, performs daily documentation as necessary, and collaborates and coordinates care with other team members.
  • Collections data and analyzes when necessary.
  • Performs any needed advanced procedures associated with their credentialing process DOP.
  • Utilizes the most up-to-date and evidence-based practice for plan of care and able to alter the plan according to family needs and effectiveness or plan.
  • Serves as an educational resource to patient/family/nursing staff/provider team and other healthcare teams as needed.
  • Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competences, certifying body renewals, seeking educational offerings when available, and participates in the professional development of others which may include Advanced Practice Provider students, Residents and Medical Students.
