About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our AWS Network Firewall team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying new services that defend Internet-facing applications against evolving threats.

You'll work closely with our team of software, hardware, and network engineers to build complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. Your expertise in networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack will be invaluable in helping us develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from low-level packet inspection hardware/software to customer-facing AWS services. You'll collaborate with our team to design, develop, and deploy new services that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy new services that defend Internet-facing applications against evolving threats
  • Collaborate with our team to build complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Develop and maintain networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack
  • Work closely with our team to identify and prioritize new projects
  • Take ownership of your work and make decisions to drive project success

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Strong knowledge about networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack
  • Experience in working on firewall or cyber security software
  • Experience in working with IPS or IDS engines such as snort or suricata

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
