Cloud Engineer Job Description

At Acuity, we are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based applications and infrastructure that support a DevSecOps culture and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and techniques.
  • Develop and deploy software and infrastructure delivery pipelines using continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) tools and methodologies.
  • Implement security controls and best practices to cloud solutions using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and availability of cloud-based applications and services.
  • Collaborate with other DevSecOps Agile team members to deliver high-quality software products and services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or closely related discipline.
  • At least eight (8+) years experience working in cloud computing, preferably in the federal space.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems.
  • Experience with multiple cloud providers is a major plus, with a larger emphasis on the AWS cloud.
  • Hold active certifications in at least one of our preferred cloud providers: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Significant understanding of Zero trust architecture.
  • Significant understanding of supply chain risk management (SCRM) automation tools and techniques.
  • Experience with telemetry, monitoring, and dashboarding tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, NewRelic, DataDog, etc.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience in a DevSecOps Culture + CI/CD best practices:
  • Heavy experience and comfort level with Infrastructure as Code (. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
  • Heavy experience and comfort level with Pipeline Automation Tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Tekton Pipelines, etc.
Cloud Native Experience:
  • Significant experience containerizing applications and deploying them to a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Experience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation landscape and heavily adopted tools such as ArgoCD, Tekton, etc.

Clearance Requirement: Must have active Secret or above security clearance.
