Sanitation and Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of management, the Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in designated areas, utilizing approved cleaning agents and methods while adhering to established work schedules.

Supervision and Reporting:
This role operates under the supervision of the Environmental Services Management team, executing assigned tasks in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Adheres to the organization's policies and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Maintains flooring and surfaces by effectively operating various cleaning equipment, including electric washers, polishers, and vacuums, making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results.

Conducts comprehensive cleaning duties in assigned areas such as offices, waiting areas, restrooms, and patient rooms through dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming, following approved procedures and utilizing appropriate materials.

Regularly inspects assigned areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards; ensures security and reports any deficiencies. Replenishes supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue in designated areas.

Disposes of waste materials, including paper, needles, and other hazardous items, in accordance with specified procedures.

Safely transports and disposes of soiled linens as per approved methods. Cleans and maintains waste receptacles, replacing liners as necessary. Assists in moving equipment and furniture, as well as cleaning items like wheelchairs and gurneys according to established protocols.

Additional Duties:

May assist with the movement and delivery of materials within the facility; participates in sanitizing beds and furniture and prepares them with fresh linens.

Engages in staff development activities and required training courses. Maintains courteous and cooperative interactions with colleagues, patients, and visitors.

Responsibility: Addresses issues, resolves conflicts, and takes ownership of tasks.
Care: Respects confidentiality, values diversity, and demonstrates empathy.
Professionalism: Maintains a tidy work environment, minimizes noise, and supports team efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must possess good physical stamina and be capable of standing for extended periods. Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting is required. Basic reading and comprehension skills are necessary.

Experience:
No prior experience is required; training will be provided.

Shift Requirements:
Availability for weekend shifts is necessary. Schedules will be determined post-hire (5 days per week). Possible shifts include:
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
- 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM

Additional Information:
Participation in health screenings and physical examinations is required.
