Michaels, the leading creative destination in North America, is seeking a skilled Creative Events Coordinator to join our team in Indy-Noblesville, IN.

As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events that provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for our guests. This includes coordinating kids' birthday parties, craft classes, and other events that showcase our products and services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and coordinating multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engaging with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrating and instructing party participants in the completion of craft projects, performing face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitating and implementing party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
  • Communicating events with clients and store team members.
  • Completing administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjusting plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Creating backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Upholding the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

In addition to event coordination, you will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, helping customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions. This includes:

  • Helping customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
  • Providing fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engaging customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completing enrollments.
  • Educating customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assisting with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
  • Participating in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Completing merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Performing Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Supporting shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; executing Company policies and standards.
  • Interacting with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remaining positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promoting commitment to the organization's vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members
  • Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Participating in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms

The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, the ability to handle job stress, and interact effectively with others, including guests of all ages and co-workers. Retail and/or customer service experience is required. The salary for this role is estimated to be between $45,000 and $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
