Robotic Welder, Spacecraft Assembly

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotic Welder to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our spacecraft assembly team, you will be responsible for operating robotic weld systems, performing manual blend operations, and precision drilling for internal tank installations.
Responsibilities- Operate robotic weld systems to assemble and manufacture spacecraft components
- Perform manual blend operations to ensure high-quality welds
- Conduct precision drilling for internal tank installations, adhering to strict engineering specifications
- Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment
- Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles
- Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid, and electrical flight hardware assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models
- Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other group support equipment as required
- Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools, such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments
- Perform routine maintenance functions, such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and Safety
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders/stairs, lifting heavy items > 50lbs, and blending welds
- Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
- Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends if/when necessary as directed
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Experience with multi-axis robotic systems
- Sheet metal experience (fabricating, assembly, and installation)
- Experience in precision drilling applications and assembling tight tolerance structures
- Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
- Military Experience
- Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle production, testing, and assembly
- Experience in handling large aerospace components and flight hardware
