Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our spacecraft operations team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on machining equipment, working with customers and suppliers, and communicating effectively with the team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage machine tool service requirements and needs, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Schedule and perform factory-required preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and other equipment, utilizing precision tools and machinery.
  • Assemble and install mechanical equipment and systems, such as production machinery and tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine service and repair history.
  • Schedule and coordinate factory repair technicians as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact with the factory for service and support.
  • Provide training and guidance to other employees on preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Read and understand blueprints, using precision tools and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, including mills, lathes, lasers, and EDMs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in machine maintenance, with a strong background in CNC operations and mechanical components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery, including CNC equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools and personal computers.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with trade school degree or 5 years of experience preferred.
  • GD&T knowledge and understanding required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Mori-Seiki, Siemens, and Heidenhain control systems.
  • Experience with Laserdyne and IPG machines, as well as Laser and Ball Bar alignments.
  • Multi-axis lathe, multi-axis mill, and multi-axis VTL maintenance experience.
  • Integration of accessory machine components and machine ladder logic and PLC experience.
  • Machine operation experience and basic tooling and fixture design knowledge.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skill levels and experience machining tight tolerance, high-value components.
