About the Role

At Blue Origin, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Robotic Welding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling large-scale hardware for various spaceflight systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate robotic weld systems to ensure high-quality welds and efficient production processes.
  • Perform manual blend operations to achieve precise and accurate results.
  • Conduct precision drilling by engineering drawings and specifications for internal tank installations.
  • Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment.
  • Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles.
  • Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid, and electrical flight hardware assemblies according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
  • Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other group support equipment as required.
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as climbing ladders/stairs, lifting heavy items > 50lbs, and blending welds.
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends if/when necessary as directed.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with multi-axis robotic systems.
  • Sheet metal experience (fabricating, assembly, and installation).
  • Experience in precision drilling applications and assembling tight tolerance structures.
  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
  • Military Experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle production, testing, and assembly.
  • Experience in handling large aerospace components and flight hardware.
