Job Summary

The State of North Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Officer III to oversee the business functions of a medium male prison facility. This position requires strong decision-making skills, knowledge of departmental policies, and experience in budgeting, accounting, and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the complete business function of the prison, including fiscal and human resources operations
- Supervise subordinate staff responsible for budget, accounting, human resources, canteen, clothes house, maintenance, mailroom, and trust fund
- Gather and analyze data to provide management-level reports and information
- Work closely with the Warden to manage the facility budget and make decisions regarding expenditures

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and four years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- State Government experience in budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and human resources
- Documented experience supervising and/or managing subordinate staff
